Area 30, the General Service Area of eastern MA¹, is partitioned into 27 districts. Each district (or combined district) elects a District Committee Member (DCM) to represent local AA groups. A group may elect a General Service Representative (GSR) to represent the group. In eastern MA (as elsewhere) districts and groups are represented by DCMs and GSRs, and each area is represented by an elected Area Delegate at the General Service Conference.
