The WAI Chairperson is responsible for chairing the monthly steering committee and delegates committee meetings, using an agenda and meeting script.

The chairperson opens and conducts each committee meeting per Roberts’ Rules (relaxed). The Alternate Chairperson assumes this role in the chairperson's absence.
